Def Leppard pleases Mexico

Def Leppard offered a spectacular concert at the National Auditorium,
successfully reflecting more than 25 years of musical history.

Mexico City, Mexico, Nov 17 - Traveling through their musical past, the
legendary British band Def Leppard pleased the approximately ten thousand
spectators who attended the National Auditorium, who enjoyed the show from
beginning to end.

The band, which became successful in the 80's, appeared on stage soon
after 8:30PM to thank the audience and express their joy at coming here.

The five musicians that brought heavy metal to the radio revived their
glory with their friends, as they themselves called the mexican public,
made up of various generations.

Songs like "Action", "Let's Get Rocked", "Make Love", "Foolin", and
"Hysteria" opened the musical festivities.

Although it's often thought that rockers are only those who wear leather
jackets and pants and have long hair, the diversity of the audience was
very clear, as well as the great enthusiasm for the band's music, who
finally returned to Mexico after 8 years.

With a very simple setup bearing the cover of their latest album, "Rock Of
Ages", the band took a small break to give thanks and said, "It's good to
be in Mexico after so much time.  Thanks for waiting."

"Promises", "No Matter", "Love Bites", "Armageddon", "Godz `o' War", "Rock
On", "Photograph", "Animal", "Rock Of Ages", "Slang", and "Sugar" were
some of the other songs that were played at the "Colossus on Reforma",
that will rock again tonight with the band's music.

Although Joe Elliott, the band's vocalist, tried to talk to the audience
in Spanish, he had to admit that he wasn't very good at it, so he asked
those present to let him speak in English.

The answer didn't take long and the singer then said that the concert was
more than just a show, but rather an encounter with the old times.

Más de 25 años de trayectoria musical fueron reflejados con gran éxito en
el Auditorio Nacional, en espectacular concierto que ofreciera Def
Leppard.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, nov. 17.- Con un recorrido por su historia
musical, la legendaria banda británica Def Leppard dejó complacidos a los
cerca de 10 mil espectadores que se dieron cita en el Auditorio Nacional,
quienes disfrutaron de principio a fin la velada rockera.

Poco después de las 20:30 horas la agrupación, que alcanzó el éxito en la
década de los años 80, apareció en el escenario para agradecer a los
presentes y expresar su gusto por esta visita, en la que dejaron
constancia de sus poco más de 25 años de carrera.

Los cinco músicos que acercaron el heavy metal a la radio revivieron
viejas glorias al lado de sus amigos, como ellos mismos llamaron al
público mexicano, conformado por diferentes generaciones.

Temas como "Action", "Let's get rocked", "Make love", "Foolin" e
"Hysteria" abrieron el festín musical.

Aunque en muchas ocasiones se piensa que los rockeros son sólo aquellos
que visten con chamarras y pantalones de cuero y grandes melenas, en esta
ocasión la diversidad de atuendos se hizo presente, así como el buen ánimo
para apreciar la música de esta banda, que tras ocho años de ausencia
regresa a los escenarios mexicanos.

Con un foro muy sencillo, en el que utilizaron de fondo la portada de su
más reciente producción musical "Rock of ages", la banda hizo un breve
espacio para dar las gracias y decir: "Es bueno estar en México después de
tanto tiempo, gracias por esperarnos".

"Promises", "No matter", "Love bites", Armaggedon", "Godz `o' war", "Rock
on", "Photograph", "Animal", "Rock of ages", "Slang" y "Sugar" fueron
otros de los cortes que sonaron en el "Coloso de Reforma", que esta noche
volverá a cimbrar con la música de la agrupación.

Aunque Joe Elliot, vocalista del grupo, intentó comunicarse en español con
el público, éste no le quedó mas que reconocer que no lo habla bien, por
lo que pidió permiso a los presentes para hacerlo en inglés.

La respuesta no se hizo esperar y después el músico mencionó que más que
un concierto su presentación fue un reencuentro con los viejos tiempos.
