Def Leppard 20 February 2003 : 19:30 Def Leppard To Play Hallam FM Arena After stunning the crowds at 'Feel The Noise' at the Arena in July, Sheffield rockers Def Leppard are to play the Hallam FM Arena on Thursday 20th February 2003. Tickets priced £26.00 go on sale at 9am on Thursday 7th November 2002. Def Leppard are ambassadors of the 'Made in Sheffield' tag, being one of the definitive rock bands of the 80's and one of only a handful of acts to make the successful transition into the 90's. Lead singer Joe Elliott, Rick Savage (Bass) and Rick Allen (Drums) all come from Sheffield, with the rest of the band being made up of Viv Campbell (Electric and Acoustic Guitars) and Phillip Collen (Electric and Acoustic Guitars). Their most successful album, Hysteria, followed the band's most turbulent times when Rik Allen lost an arm in a car accident. The band did not resume work until Allen had perfected the use of a specially designed drum kit, even though this delayed the release of the album. Eventually a staggering 15 million copies worldwide were sold, topping both the British and American charts and produced such classic rock anthems as Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Rocket, Animal and Armageddon It. Adrenalise, the follow up album, also debuted at number one and produced hit singles Let's Get Rocked, Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad and Make Love Like A Man. Def Leppard recently released their tenth album X and the first single from the album, Now, received the accolade of Record of the Week in rock weekly Kerrang. The band are set to release a new single from the album, Long, Long Way To Go, in the New Year. Sheffield is Def Leppard's hometown and this will be the only Arena date on the tour. Tickets for his Thursday 20th February 2003 show at Hallam FM Arena go on sale at 9am on Thursday 7th November from the Arena Box Office, priced £26.00 (may be subject to booking fee).
