Proceedings against Mr Savage and a company, Cathrish Ltd, have been taken by Mr Robert Frewen, of East 79th Street, New York, and his wife. Mr Frewen said he and his wife own No 1, Strawberry Hill House, Vico Road. Since 1998, water had been percolating from the property overhead owned by the defendants. He and his wife were at a loss of about £100,000 in rental income. A newspaper report had said Mr Savage "is leaving" Ireland. He was apprehensive that he would be unable to recover loss of income, building costs incurred because of water damage and his legal costs which amounted to some £300,000. © 2001 ireland.com / The Irish Times
