That's where the group will perform and sales for their performance have been high. In fact the group sold the most tickets for any opening day sale. But when it comes to getting big name bands to play in our area, the biggest challenge is proving that the public will buy the tickets. Mark Schaberg of Concrete Steet says, "We came out yesterday with about a thousand tickets sold and it's rolling hard right now." Def Leppard was originally scheduled to play in Beaumont, but they couldn't sell enough tickets, so the band will play in Corpus Christi. "The most important thing is for the consumer out there to buy these tickets to these shows cuz you'll get more and more and more of these size tours if we support them," says Schaberg. If past concerts are any indication, ticket sales for the Def Leppard concert will only get better. When Willie Nelson played at Concrete Street last August, 8,000 people saw the concert. The venue can hold up to 10,000 people. If ticket sales stay up, Def Leppard may be the first of other big name groups to peform in Corpus Christi. The concert will be Wednesday May 28th at 7:30 pm at Concrete Street. *This story is written and published by KRIS Communications. Please send your comments to newsroom@kristv.com
