http://www.norwichbulletin.com/news/stories/20030828/go/142412.html Def Leppard set for Oakdale By ANDREW HORTON Norwich Bulletin It's been a long while since British export Def Leppard has graced the Nutmeg State with a world-class arena tour. Tonight at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, the band that created a new definition to the term "groupie" is returning to pay homage to their devoted New England fanbase, old and young alike. Their return also means that all those sleeveless Union Jack T-shirt and shredded acidwashed jeans might be coming out of hibernation, even if it is for one night only. Def Leppard, a band with such hits as "Pour Some Sugar On Me," "Photograph," "Rock of Ages," and "Armageddon It," has been noticeably absent from the realm of rock music throughout the age of grunge and eventual return of pop music. Sure, they're far more gruff than N'Sync or 98 Degrees ever were. But in an age where it was all about leaving Aqua Net stains on the ceilings of bedrooms, classrooms and living rooms all across this great nation of ours, image and substance were the only two things that mattered for young teenagers with a love affair for '80s' metal. With tickets still available at $39 and $49, it's hard for any fan of '80s' rock to resist the temptations of Def Leppard. For tickets and information for all shows at the Oakdale Theatre, check out the Oakdale Theatre box office online at www.oakdale.com or call (203)265-1501.
