Def Leppard, Styx and Foreigner are coming to the Ford Amphitheatre on Friday, Aug. 24, 7 p.m. With more than 65 million albums sold worldwide, not to mention two prestigious Diamond Awards to their credit, Def Leppard - Joe Elliott (vocals), Vivian Campbell (guitar), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick "Sav" Savage (bass) and Rick Allen (drums)-continues to be one of the most important forces in rock music. The group's spectacular live shows are filled with hit after hit from their groundbreaking discography that set the sound for generations of music fans and artists. Def Leppard's powerful rock anthems have become synonymous with their name and it' easy to see why rock fans keep gravitating toward their electrifying live performances. 2006 was a watershed year for Def Leppard with the group's summer concert tour becoming a must-see phenomenon. Since their debut in 1972, they've also earned double platinum, platinum and five gold albums. “Lady” was the first of 16 Top 40's, among which also includes “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights),” and “Fooling Yourself.” The video for their 1981 Top 10 single “Too Much Time on my Hands” aired in the first hour of MTV's life. Big Bang Theory, released in May 2005, features their hit remake of “I Am The Walrus,” and charted at No. 46, making it the fourth consecutive decade that Styx has had an album in the Top 50.
