Def Leppard offered a flavorful concert for "old friends"

Mexico, Nov 17 (EFE) - The British group Def Leppard rewarded the care 
and loyalty of their Mexican folowers in the first of their two concerts 
that they will perform at the National Auditorium in the country's capital.

This was the location for the reunion between the musicians and the 
public since it had been more than a decade since the band led by singer 
Joe Elliott last visited the country.

For two hours in front of 10,000 people, Def Leppard shook the enclosure.

Cheered by the audience that never stopped shouting, singing and 
dancing, the group thanked them for their welcome and signaled that they 
were happy to be present here once again.

"It's good to be back after all this time" said Elliott, who added that 
the concert was more than just a tour date, but was "a visit with old 
friends."  "Twenty-five years ago we put out our firlst album and you 
supported us.  Now, next year we're putting out a double disc of hits 
for all of you," he added.

Songs like "Hysteria", "Promises", "No Matter What", "Love Bites", and 
"Armageddon It" were successes during this musical encounter.

Formed in Sheffield (United Kingdom) in 1977, Def Leppard marked an era 
since its beginnings, an era that was remembered during last night's 
show with all the hits from the band's beginnings.

The then youths started climbing spots on the musical ladder and opened 
for bands like Sammy Hagar and AC/DC before releasing their first album

Def Leppard ofreció concierto con sabor a cita de "viejos amigos"

México, 17 nov (EFE)- El grupo inglés Def Leppard refrendó anoche el 
cariño y la fidelidad de sus seguidores mexicanos en el primero de los 
dos conciertos que dará en el Auditorio Nacional de la capital del país.

Este escenario fue el punto de reencuentro entre los músicos y el 
público, pues hacía más de una década que la banda liderada por Joe 
Elliot no visitaba este país.

Durante dos horas y ante unas 10.000 personas, Def Leppard sacudió el
recinto.

Aclamados por la muchedumbre que no paró de gritar, cantar y bailar, la 
agrupación agradeció de este recibimiento y señaló su ganas de 
presentarse de nuevo en este escenario.

"Es muy bueno estar aquí después de tanto tiempo" indicó Elliot, quien 
agregó que más que un concierto la cita era "una visita a viejos amigos" 
  "Hace veinticinco años que sacamos nuestro primer disco y ustedes lo 
apoyaron. Ahora, el próximo año lanzaremos un doble disco de éxitos para 
todos ustedes", añadió.

Canciones como "Hysteria", "Promises", "No matter what", "Love Bites", 
"Armageddon" se sucedieron en este gran reencuentro musical.
