The Almighty announced as supporting band

THE ALMIGHTY have officially cancelled their December U.K. tour.

The following is the group's statement on the matter:

"With great sadness, we announce the UK tour in December has been cancelled. With slow ticket sales for the shows scheduled for THE ALMIGHTY in December and after careful consideration, [THE ALMIGHTY frontman] Ricky [Warwick] has made the decision to cancel the shows and to accept a tour of America with DEF LEPPARD where news of his solo album release is being well received.

Def Leppard show slated for Wal-Mart

Talk about a free Def Leppard concert at a local Wal-Mart appears to be legitimate.

"Ooohh," said Kevin Fields of Fayetteville. "Where? What new Wal-Mart, and how do I get there?"

The venue for the concert is the new Wal-Mart Supercenter which is slated to open Wednesday at the corner of Raeford and Gillis Hill roads. The store's manager, Missi Keith, confirmed Monday that the band would be playing a free concert at 6 p.m. on July 31.

Q-Prime, Def Leppard's management, has confirmed that Def Leppard will be performing at Mix93.3's Red White and Boom concert on June 29, 2002. The set list should last about 1 hour and may contain some songs from X.
